Summer is definitely in full swing.  Small churches like ours feel the impact of people gone on vacations more so than big churches might.  Please remember how valuable you are at church!  Just your presence gives encouragement to others who are there.   Also, it's awfully easy to get complacent and 'settle back' into a summer routine that can leave out the Lord.  I remember Bob Watson from the Northwest congregation used to lament about how so many retired Christians came to Florida and then never came to church.  He described it as,  "Hello Florida- Goodbye God" for lots of these folks.  THANK YOU New Hope for your love, commitment and service to God.  Let's not allow the summer heat to melt our enthusiasm!

As summer begins we know that our Mexico Mission is right around the corner.  This will be a new venture for this congregation and I am so proud of those who have signed up to go.  As I told you, over 30 people from Clemson made this trip while I was there and invariably the same people went year after year.  I believe you will find our members coming back excited and 'pumped' to do even more next year.  Through our garage sale, auction and individual donations, God has provided us the means to help these very poor Mexican people.  Please keep this mission in your continued prayers as we get closer to 'takeoff' on July 13!                 -Alan
